Full Description
PRN 13943
The former chapel is a gabled building constructed from red brick with a slate roof, lying in the grounds of a bungalow named 'Springfield'. It was abandoned, derelict and completely overgrown when visited in 2008 with the result that most details were obscured. The gabled elevation facing the road has a gault brick gable cornice with billet ornament and a date tablet of 1867. The round-headed windows have gault brick dressings in the arches and blue glass in the margin lights. The bays of the north elevation are divided by brick pilasters with a brick plinth. There is a gabled porch to the rear and what appears to have been a round-headed doorway on the south elevation has been replaced with a square-headed opening.{1}{2}
