Full Description

PRN 13940 A Wesleyan Methodist chapel was built in West End Road in 1826. One documentary source suggests that it was rebuilt in 1849 though the building is recorded in the census of religious returns (1851) as having been built in 1826 and having 30 Sunday Scholars at that time. The last service was held in 1939 and the building was sold in 1944. In 1999 it was in use as a joinery workshop but the present use is unknown. The extant building is constructed of red brick with a hipped pantile roof. The east and west elevations have 2 segmental-headed windows. The south elevation is obscured by a modern flat-roofed extension. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
