Summary

Possible medieval pond on land at Spencer Farm, Croft End

Type and Period (1)

  • (Medieval - 1066 AD to 1539 AD)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

PRN 47155 A pond filled with a peat deposit was found during a watching brief. A piece of modern tile was found in the fill, however this is thought to be intrusive as peat could not form that quickly. A 12th century sherd in the fill is thought to give a more likely indication of the feature's date. {1}{2}
