Full Description
13932
A Methodist Society was formed in Wrangle in 1769 but the first chapel was not built until 1804. The extant building was built in 1842 and is still a chapel and now serves Old Leake as well. There is a date stone of 1842 and the building dates from then with later alterations and extensions. The Sunday School was built in 1881 to 1882. There is a late nineteenth century flat roofed porch at the front and a plinth was probably added at that time too. There is a lean-to extension to the rear that is probably the Sunday school and which may still be used for this. The building retains a number of its original architectural features. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}{6}{7}
