Full Description
A large quantity of medieval finds were recovered during trial trenching, however these were mostly recovered from residual contexts. The only medieval feature identified was a probable back yard rubbish pit. A moderately large amount of iron working slag (both smithing and smelting) of Saxo-Norman/medieval date was identified, suggesting that iron was being worked on or near the site. A large quantity of pottery was also recovered including much Stamford ware. {1}{2}
