Full Description

Site of former maltings, at Union Street, Grantham. {1} The building was constructed in 1823 by the Congregational Church, and was briefly used as a chapel, until the Congregationalists moved to a new building on Chapel Street (see PRN 39363). {2} The building was later converted to be used as a malthouse, and is labelled as such on the 1887 Ordnance Survey Town Map of Grantham. The building is depicted on the 2nd edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of 1904, but is no longer labelled as a malthouse, suggesting its use had changed. It is now (2014) in use as a shop. {3}{4}{5}
