Full Description

PRN 70562 The brick foundations of an early 19th century windmill were uncovered during trial trenching. The mill is thought to have been a small tower mill, smaller than the nearby surviving Crown Mill. It first shown on a map of 1820, and is known to have been demolished between 1851 and 1868. Its site was later occupied by terraced housing, now also demolished, and the cellars of these houses have destroyed a large portion of the windmill's remains. {1}{2} Part of the foundations of this mill were observed during a watching brief. {3}{4}
