A brickworks is known to have been operating in the early 19th century and possibly the late 18th century. It was located "at the foot of the western side of the hill along Gorse Lane". {1}
This brickworks is not shown on the 1905 O.S. map and its location is therefore uncertain (the point shown on the map is an estimate only). {2}
