Full Description

PRN 70587 Several pits, probably refuse pits, of medieval date were encountered during a watching brief. These are probably associated with dwellings that fronted onto the High Street. An extensive deposit of soil probably represents the deliberate raising and levelling of the ground at the site, probably during the 12th-13th century. Medieval pottery (mostly locally produced) and tile, including examples of three new tile fabrics, were recovered. {1}{2}
