PRN 65125
A small modernised 16th or 17th century (probably 16th century) house, which may have been a manor house, stood on this site until it was demolished sometime prior to 1965. {1}{2}
This house is shown and labelled "Manor House" on the 1905 O.S. map. {4}
It is suggested that this was the site of the earlier, medieval manor of Silkby. {3}
Site of (Manor House), Silk Willoughby. Demolished 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with L-plan range plus detached buildings to the third side of the yard. The farmhouse was detached from the main working complex. Located within a Church and/or Manor farm group. {5}
