Full Description

Several undated features were recorded in this location in December 2005, during trial trenching on land at South Street. The features comprised the remains of several post holes, a north to south aligned ditch and a depression caused by a hedged boundary. The lack of associated occupational material at this site would suggest that these features relate to agricultural activity rather than settlement. {1}{2} Further undated features were recorded in this location in August 2018, during further trial trenching on land at South Street and Stallingborough Road. The features comprised the remains of three probable former drainage ditches, likely marking the area around former pasture land or paddocks. No dateable material was recovered from the ditches, however, and their exact origin remains uncertain. {3}{4}
