Full Description

Curvilinear earthwork bank and ditches of unknown date, to the north-west of Swaby. The features were noted on the Google Maps aerial photographic layer, and seem to respect the parish boundary between Swaby and Walmsgate. They may represent the remains of a former trackway or boundary feature. {1} An extensive series of natural geological features and spillways are known to exist along the eastern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, including this area near Valley Farm. It may well be more likely that these features are the result of that previous glacial movement and activity, rather than being of archaeological origin. {2}
