Full Description

The "quite ambitious" school was built in 1874. {1} There was a schoolmaster (Rylett Thomas) in the village in 1856, although no mention is made of a school building. The education of 22 poor children of the parish was paid for by the Welby family. {2} Large two storey former schoolhouse of coursed stone with ashlar dressings, under a pitched gabled roof of slate. Two ridge stacks. {3}
