PRN 64917 Possible mill site. Described as 'iuxta antiquam udam Slafordie' (and probably that listed as belonging to the Ramsey fee of 1087), passed into the hands of the Gilbertine priory of Haverholme during the episcopate of Robert de Chesney (1148-1166), and is so catalogued in the 1258 custumal. Its eventual fate is unknown but it had disappeared by the time of the Dissolution.{1} A possible site for the Priors Mill has been identified on the Old Slea River. Around TF007461 a series of earthworks under pasture have been identified, including the line of a possible mill race.{1}
