Full Description

Moorby Camp, in the Parish of Claxby Pluckacre, was a Prisoner of War Camp during the Second World War. It is an example of a 'standard camp'. In the official government numbering it was camp number 79 and referred to as Moorby Camp, Ravensby. It is recorded as a German working camp. {1} The camp is visible as an agricultural workers' hostel on the OS 6 inch map of the early 1950s. {2} By 2002 there were poultry houses belonging to a farm built on the site. {3}
