Full Description
Canwick Camp was a Prisoner of War camp during the Second World War. The camp encorporated a series of pre-existing Nissen huts which were located on the edge of woodland and aranged around a playing field. In the official government numbering system it was camp number 1012 and referred to as Canwick Camp, Canwick, Lincoln. It is recorded as a German Working Camp. {1}
The camp is visible on the OS 6 inch map of the early 1950's. {2}
The site is now occupied by housing. {3}
