Full Description

The foundation course of a stone wall was uncovered in April 2007, during a watching brief at 58 Bailgate, Lincoln. The rubble infill of the wall contained tile of 12th-15th century date and the feature was sealed by a a deposit producing pottery of 16th-18th century date. It is not clear whether the wall relates to a structure or a boundary but it appears to pre-date the current house which was built in the 18th century. {1}{2}
