Full Description
PRN 70562
A selection of Medieval architectural fragments observed in the garden of 10 Minster Yard, Lincoln. The fragments include circular shafts, plain column bases, stiff-leaf capitals and other dressed and carved stone dating (predominantly) to the Early English period. Some of the shaft fragments have been incorporated into later, 19th and 20th century walls and garden features. The stonework appears to be ecclesiastical in origin and is probably derived from the nearby Church of St Margaret Pottergate, which was demolished in the 1780s (see PRN 70527).{1}
