Full Description

This building is labelled as a school on the 2nd edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey County Series map. {1} No school or schoolmaster is mentioned in White's 'Directory' of 1856, suggesting that it was founded after this date. {2} The building is still extant, though it is now in use as a private house, named the 'Old School House'. {3} Single storey buff brick building in Flemish Bond, under a pitched gabled slate roof. The bell gable, with bell and apparatus, is still extant. {4}
