Full Description

The excavation of a late Iron Age to early Romano-British site yielded a small assemblage of flint implements with a broad date range. Two patinated blades and a microdenticulated blade with gloss recovered from subsoil deposits are Mesolithic/Neolithic in date, as is a bladelet core recovered from a ditch. A broken microdenticulate blade with gloss, recovered from an early Roman ring-ditch is also likely to be Mesolithic/Neolithic in date, as are a number of blades recovered from the site. {1}{2}
