Full Description

PRN 64461 A curvilinear ditch was discovered during a watching brief on a gas pipeline development. The ditch was located towards the southern end of the field and was visible for a distance of 8m when the pipeline header trench was excavated. It was 1.3m wide at its eastern end tapering to 75cm at the western end and 32cm deep. It had two fills, the upper fill containing seven sherds of Romano-British pottery. In the absence of any other remains, it is impossible to assess the significance of this isolated feature, but its presence signals the possibility that there may be more significant archaeological deposits in the immediate area.{1}{2}
