Full Description

PRN A watermill labelled Leasingham Moor Mill (corn) is shown on the 1905 Ordnance Survey map. {1} Leasingham Moor Paper Mill was known as Bardolf Mill from c.1617 and had originally been a corn mill. The paper mill was worked from this date throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, then put up for sale on the 22nd June 1827. The mill was reverted to a corn mill after 1829 and was demolished in the 1950s. {2} On the far side of the lock are the mill race and foundations of Evedon Paper Mill. It had seven sets of millstones and supplied paper to a Boston printing works. It was demolished in the 1930s. There are references to paper making on this site from the 17th century. {3}
