Full Description

PRN 64260 Three undated ditches were found during a watching brief. It seems likely that they are field boundary ditches which were back-filled when the golf course was constructed. The 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map shows three field boundaries in roughly the correct positions to correspond with these features. It is not known how long these features pre-date the map - as this area of land is permanently dry rather than reclaimed land they may conceivably be medieval in origin. (Note: the exact location of these features is not clear.) {1}{2} An undated ditch and linear feature were revealed during a watching brief along Section 38 of the River Witham Flood Defence Improvement Scheme. {3}{4}
