A large quantity (150 sherds) of Roman pottery was found during fieldwalking. The pottery mainly consists of greyware but Dales ware and finer colour coated wares were also present. The assemblage includes kitchen and table wares and seems to represent a large domestic assemblage, possibly indicating the presence of a riverside settlement or trading post. {1}
