Full Description

PRN 46713 A small scatter of prehistoric pottery was found during fieldwalking in advance of pipeline construction and the remains of an enclosure of probable Iron Age date were revealed during the subsequent excavation, although unfortunately this excavation was limited due to the rapid approach of the construction gang. The enclosure consisted of three ditches, all containing small quantities of undiagnostic handmade pottery likely to date to the 1st millenium BC. Another ditch was revealed during the watching brief but it contained no finds. {1}
