Full Description

A post-medieval pit and ditch were revealed during a watching brief, conducted to inform proposed development at 6 Stockhouse Lane, Surfleet. These features were sealed by a subsoil that may indicate past agricultural activity at the site. A single sherd of abraded, 18th century Staffordshire slipware pottery was recovered, along with a late post-medieval fragment of tile and a piece of iron smithing slag. {1}{2}
