Full Description

PRN 64077 Site of former blacksmiths workshop (smithy) as depicted on the Ordnance Survey County Series map of 1905. The smithy appears on the later Ordnance Survey 1:10000 map of 1985. The building appears to have been demolished sometime after 1985.{1}{2} The blacksmith's workshop appears to have been built during the expansion of the Ashby Hall estate by the Rev. John William King (sometime between 1841-1875). A photograph of the blacksmith's workshop is contained in a recent historical study.{3}
