Full Description
PRN 36764
Fieldwalking around Honington Camp recovered a small assemblage of pottery including shell-tempered pottery which could be late Iron Age and/or Romano-British in date. Romano-British greywares were also recovered. All pottery was very abraded and may result from manuring. A small quantity of slag was also recovered. Most of this represents smithing activity but there was also one piece of iron smelting slag with charcoal imprints. The slag is probably of Iron Age origin. {1}
