Full Description

PRN 46659 Medieval earthwork ridge and furrow, Tattershall Thorpe, as depicted on the Witham valley NMP.{1} A number of furrows (TF 20854 59867) were located during trial trenching in 2007 and 2008, on land immediately east of earthworks previously identified by the Witham Valley NMP. In general, the features lay on north to south alignments. {2}{3} All of the various blocks of ridge and furrow comprising this record were checked on Google Maps in the course of compilation of the SHINE dataset. It would appear that all of the earthworks have been destroyed, either through arable cultivation or through gravel/sand extraction. {4}
