Full Description
This sluice is at the end of Hobhole Drain which was a central feature of John Rennie's fen drainage scheme. It was built in 1805-6 and repaired in 1888. It was replaced in 1957 with a pumping station and new cut. {1}
Gritstone ashlar with raked and battered flanking walls, facetted cutwaters with Roman numeral depth marks, and an iron sluice gate.
