A possible pit or scoop was found during work on a British Gas pipeline. It consisted of a roughly semi-circular cut with very rounded base and gently inclined sides, measuring 0.84m deep by 2.42m wide. Its fill seemed similar to that of non-archaeological features in the chalk bedrock. No dating evidence was recovered, so its function and date are unknown.{1}
