Full Description

PRN 55271 A scatter of forty pottery sherds was discovered during fieldwalking prior to the construction of a British Gas pipeline. Most were grey ware of 2nd century AD date but there were also some later 3rd to 4th century wares present. One possible pit was discovered with the area of the scatter during the pipeline construction, but no datable material was recovered and its relationship with the scatter is uncertain as is its function. It may even be the result of intrusive animal disturbance.{1}
