Full Description
PRN 55267
This feature appeared to be a ditch, and was noted during work on a British Gas pipeline. The ditch had fairly gently inclined sides and a very rounded base, measuring approximately 1.35m deep by 4.10m wide. It was cut into the chalk bedrock and ran roughly NNE-SSW across the pipetrench. No finds were recovered from it. It may have been a field boundary. The nearest site was the scatter of Romano-British pottery (55266), but there is nothing concrete to connect the ditch with the scatter.{1}
