Full Description
PRN 55264
A probably field boundary ditch was found during work on a British Gas pipeline. The trench revealed two profiles of the ditch, surprisingly dissimilar in shape. The WNW facing section appeared basically V-shaped while the ESE facing section was markedly U-shaped. The respective measurements were 1.20m deep by 2.25m wide and 1m deep by 1.15m, the ditch being cut into the chalk bedrock. No finds were recovered from it. The fill was suspiciously homogenous, which might support the possibility of the feature being an old field boundary.{1}
