Full Description

A post medieval glass witch bottle containing a number of objects was discovered during foundation digging for a water feature in the front garden of a house on Church Street, Navenby. The glass vessel has a seam running up the side, indicating that it was manufactured in a mould. This suggests a date from about 1820 onwards, a very late date for a witch bottle. The bottle was found beneath a buried solid surface, which might have been an old patio or floor.{1}
