Full Description

PRN 70479 A geophysical survey was undertaken on land off South Park, Lincoln. The geophysical survey identified three former field boundaries and the remains of a former building which are depicted on the 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map.{1} Twelve evaluation trenches were investigated in 2003. A number of post-medieval to modern features were recorded, including a number of field boundaries and recent disturbance.{2}{3} A subsequent archaeological watching brief identified two large ditches, one with an east to west alignement and the other aligned northeast to southwest. Although no dating evidence was retrieved from the ditches, it is thought they represent field boundaries that are visible on the 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map.{4}{5}
