Full Description
Cropmarks of a possible Bronze Age round barrow, to the south of Forest Wood, Skendleby. Visible as a roughly circular enclsoure, defined by a single ditch measuring approximately 10m in diameter. It lies to the immediate east of a possibly Neolithic long barrow (see MLI43177). Identified on aerial photography examined as part of the National Mapping Programme. {1}
The circular feature in this area was noted in more recent re-analysis of the aerial photography of this area, though was thought to be much smaller than previously stated, having an internal diameter of only 5.3m. It was uncertain if this would indeed be the remains of a round barrow. {2}
