PRN 55251
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land adjacent to the Fossdyke Canal, Torksey. The watching brief identified a large ditch towards the eastern end of the site. The ditch appeared to be a former field boundary that was backfilled in the post medieval period. Examnination of the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey Map of 1887 shows no evidence of this boundary, indicating that it had been backfilled prior to drawing of the map.{1}{2}
