Full Description

PRN 55248 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on land at The Grange, Barlings. The watching brief identified two archaeological features. The most significant was a pit filled with domestic waste, indicatinf that there was some form of occupation of the area during the early Romano_british period: late 1st to early 2nd century. To the south east of the pit, a linear cur feature was exposed. Although not dated by any associated artefactual remains, the fact that the two features were close together in what was otherwise an empty site may suggest that they were associated.{1}{2}
