Full Description

PRN 23963 An archaeological watching brief undertaken on land at Lowgate, Gedney. Two ditches and a hardstanding area were recorded to the north of centre of the site, which were dated to the post-medieval period. The two post medieval ditches probably functioned as drainage channels and boundaries to a certain extent. Limited artefactual evidence was recovered from the ditches. The hardstanding area contained a quantity of ceramic building material that may have been from structures in the area or that the material was derived from brick/tile making somewhere in the vicinity.{1}{2}
