A mid 18th Century cottage, with later 19th and 20th Century additions and alterations. Constructed in mud and stud and colourwashed brick. The cottage has a thatched roof covered with corrugated iron with weatherboarded overghangings. A site visit was undertaken to The Cottage, West Ashby. The building was found to be in a very poor state. However, the fabric of the building, including the mud and stud walls and thatched roof, were still visible.{3}
