PRN 63932 This record is for the gatepiers only. For a history of Bloxholm Hall and its surrounding gardens, see PRN64075. Gatepiers. c1772. Limestone ashlar and coade stone. A pair of tall, square rusticated gatepiers, with moulded bases and tops supporting a pair of coade stone draped urns, with gadrooned tops surmounted by tall flowers. Between a pair of plain late C19 iron gates. These gatepiers were presumably erected for General Manners of Bloxholm Hall.{1} The elegant gatepiers by the churchyard, of chanelled masonry, are of about the same date as Mrs Coade's peacock (1772).{2}
