Full Description

PRN 70469 A watching brief was undertaken outside 48 Bailgate, Lincoln during groundworks. A north to south stone culvert at least a metre deep, made of rectangular limestone blocks with grey mortar, was uncovered. It was interpreted as a Roman sewer but due to time constraints was not investigated further. It is believed that this may be the same Roman sewer that was uncovered in the 19th century. {1}{2}
