Full Description
Cropmarks of a triangular enclosure of probable Iron Age or Roman date, to the north of Middle Farm, Edlington. The enclosure measures approximately 101m by 93m, and appears to have at least two internal divisions and an entrance in the north-east face. Three amorphous areas of probable extraction lie within the enclosure, and may be broadly contemporary, though this cannot be clarified from the cropmarks. Cropmarks of a probable Neolithic long barrow lie to the south (see MLI43649), with a possible trackway linking the barrow to the enclosure tentatively noted, though these cropmarks are poor and difficult to interpret. Identified on aerial photography examined as part of the National Mapping Programme. {1}{2}
