A polished flint axe was found at Walcott Commons. The information comes from Memoires of the Geological Survey, "The Geology of the Fenland", by S.Skertchley, 1877, p.206: "..a splendid polished celt of flint, found in the peat at Digby. It is 5 and a half inches in length, 1 and a half inches in the butt and 2 and a half inches at the cutting edge." {1}
