Full Description
PRN 13824
A programme of archaeological fieldwalking was undertaken on land to the south of Wainfleet Road, Fishtoft. The distribution of Medieval finds is moderately high on the western and southern boundaries of the site. There does appear to be clustering along the northern edge of the site which would accord well with the presumed location of the Medieval hamlet of Fenne. A wide collection of Medieval pottery was collected with 10th to 12th century Stamford ware being the earliest discovered.{1}{2}
