Full Description

PRN 46292 Trial trenching and then excavation were undertaken at the Toynton St Peter new vacuum mains sewerage scheme prior to development. Large quantities of Toyntonware medieval sherds were recovered from ditches and pits which formed parts of a field system. It is believed that this demonstrates that there was a kiln or kilns in the vicinity which operated from the 13th to 19th centuries. {1}{2}
