63635 A Baptist Chapel is indicated on the 1905 OS County Series map, but it is not clear which building is referred to. It may be the building which is now 27 Eastgate. {1} The site was visited in 2009. The chapel was demolished, possibly in the 1980s (personal communication).The site is now occupied by a bungalow named Chapel Cottage, though an ashlar tablet inscribed 'Baptist Chapel rebuilt 1896' survives reset in the boundary wall. A Calvinist Particular Baptist Chapel dating to before 1800 was recorded in Heckington in 1851.{3}{4}
