Full Description
An archaeological watching brief and excavation along the route of the Silk Willoughby to Staythorpe Gas Pipeline identified the remains of a small domestic settlement, possibly the remains of a 1st to 2nd century farmstead. Two segments of a ring ditch, which produced 47 sherds of pottery, and a deep ditch or palisade trench which produced pottery dating to the mid-2nd to 3rd century, were excavated. {1}{2}
