Full Description

PRN 63704 A watching brief and subsequent excavation conducted along the route of the Silk Willoughby to Staythorpe Gas Pipeline recorded a number of early Bronze Age features, including a pit and a number of ditches. Both the pit and ditches contained grog-tempered early Bronze Age pottery sherds. The features may have formed elements of a large enclosure , although much of the evidence is now fragmentary. {1}{2} A number of early Bronze Age lithic implements were retrieved from the area, including two early Bronze Age scrapers found within the early medieval graves (PRN 60375). {1}{2}
